M.C.MODI was the founder of Padmabhushan DR.M.C.MODI EYE HOSPITAL in BANGALORE in the year 1980. DR.M.C.MODI was distinguished leader with social responsibility in community eye care services. Recognizing his social service govt. of karnataka sanctioned land to provide eye care services for the needy and the affordable people He was pioneer in taking eye cares ervices to the door steps to poor patients and who are unable reach hospital and pioneer in organising mass eye operation camps performed 833 eye surgeries in a single day went to perform 7,62,873 eye surgeries in his life time,both the events finds a place in guinness book of world records.
Established in 1980, by Padmabhushan Dr. M. C. Modi, the hospital initially functioned as a camp based eye hospital. Over the years it has been serving thousands of poor and needy patients with eye ailments, the hospital came to be established as a super speciality eye hospital.
After decades of providing quality in eye care, our Hospital decided to start educational courses. The Government of Karnataka permitted our Hospital to start Diploma in Ophthalmic Technology course in our Hospital 28/02/2011 which allowed intake of 20 seats.
Dr.Amarnath Modi S/o.Dr.M.C.Modi Graduated from Bombay University in MS (Ophthalmology) from in the year 1977.He obtained experience in ophthalmic surgery (cataract) Glaucoma, retina, Keratoplasty and other plastic procedure of the eye lids, Reconstruction of the orbit etc.. He has performed more than 3, 00,000 (Three lakh) cataract and other eye surgeries. He was married to Dr. Suvarana Modi a pathologist in the year of 1979, she joined hands with Dr. Amaranth Modi in taking forward the ideas of Dr M. C Modi in setting up of a regular Eye Hospital to cater to the needs of poor and socioeconomic status families.
The regular Eye Hospital was started in the year 1980 which saw a drastic development and flow of patients getting treated at an affordable tariff, later years saw more changes with latest equipments. He also set Vision, Mission and Quality to a super speciality Eye Hospital. After the demise of Dr Suvarana Modi (2012) and Dr Amaranth Modi (2014) the management and staff have been managing the Eye Hospital from the year 2014 which has grown two folds in the last 6 years .
All type of ophthalmic related problems are attended to by team of 10 regular ophthalmic consultants and 8 senior ophthalmic consultants for Specialty Eye care Services, which can be diagnosed with latest ophthalmic equipments and machines.
